October 23, 1946 - July 21, 2025 Darrell Elliott, of North Vancouver, passed away on July 21, 2025, a gorgeous summer day, after a two year battle with cancer. He will be remembered for his wonderful intellect, loyalty, kindness, wisdom, love of fishing and rugby, voracious reading, and above all devotion to family. He was 78. Adrienne, Guy and Lauren mourn him deeply. Born in Port Alfred, South Africa, to a family with deep roots in the Eastern Cape Province, Darrell moved as a child with his parents to Rhodesia, where they established a tobacco farm. He was raised there and later served as a territorial officer in the Rhodesian military during the Bush War. His Rhodesian years, rich with challenge and adventure, were the source of his legendary anecdotes. Among his fondest memories were the hunting trips in the Zambezi Valley with his father: these experiences instilled in him a lifelong respect for the land and its wildlife.
